I hope Rick Santorum thinks there’s one more step when really he’s reached the top of the steps.

The trouble with chronic depression is that sometimes you can literally wake up feeling miserable for no reason at all. It’s almost impossible to shake and I usually end up losing a whole day to feeling sad and fat and useless.
I’m going to try and force myself to dry my hair, leave the house and see if Elsa the Cat wants to sit with me for a while. If the next two days really are...

I Actually Overheard This Today.
Girl 1: So then he gets up in front of everybody and grabs my arm and tries to force me to stay, so I tell him to fuck off and I leave the party.
Girl 2: That's crazy.
Girl 1: And then he comes after me yelling "I'm so sorry, I'm so sorry, I won't do it again, I'm just really drunk."
Girl 2: Aww...He's so cute.
Girl 1: I told him I was going home because I was cold so then he took off his jacket and tried to force it over me and I was like "What are you doing?"
Girl 2: See? That's adorable.
Girl 1: I was like "oh my god." And people on the street thought it was like, domestic violence or something and tried to get him off me. And then he grabbed my lighter and threw it into the middle of street and told me to go get it.
Girl 2: Oh my god, that's hilarious.
Girl 1: I know, right? It was crazy. I still have all these bruises from it.
Girl 2: He's such a funny guy.
Girl 1: You don't even know. Like, he calls me Piggy. If he sees me eating cookies or something he'll grab them out of my hand and call me a pig.
Girl 2: Awww....
GIRL 2, YOU ARE ALMOST AS TERRIBLE A PERSON AS GIRL 1'S ABUSIVE BOYFRIEND.
Why did Dave and Kurt get these amazing, heart-wrenching coming out arcs, and Santana got the botched mess that was “I Kissed a Girl”? I honestly don’t want to re-open the whole debate on Finn outing Santana, but if Nick outing Dave at his new school was so clearly seen as a dire and threatening event, why was Finn’s outing of Santana treated so lightly it could be resolved with a few songs?...

Dear Tumblr,
Can we all just stop trying to out-progressive each other and actually do something useful?
Because if someone says “You can’t X because of Y privilege!” one more time I’m going to bang my privileged head against my keyboard.
I mean, I’m all for calling out and acknowledging privilege, but damn. This shit is getting ridiculous.

When Oliver Cromwell invaded Ireland, that was persecution.
When Catholic immigrants to the United States faced violent backlash from the Nativist movement of the 1850s, that was intolerance.

I’m sick and tired of people acting like it’s no big deal that Chris Brown will be performing at the Grammys.
I’m frustrated that the mainstream media is covering this story like it’s any comeback story, like an exiled prince’s return to a former glory, like this is another political timeline — as though some rich and powerful old white men in the music business...

I think Clara Hughes is incredibly brave to speak out about her ongoing battle with depression. Not only does it show that mental illness can affect even someone as beautiful and talented as Clara, but that it doesn’t have to stop you from following your dreams.
No kidding, no snark. As schmaltzy as it sounds, she’s an inspiration.
